Recap: Youngker Roughriders vs. Washington Rams
The Youngker Roughriders lost against the Washington Rams back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Youngker took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington. Youngker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Youngker lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xavier Hargrove. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Hargrove hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Taijh Riley, who scored ten points.
Youngker has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Washington, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Youngker will look to defend their home court on Friday against Copper Canyon at 7:00 p.m. Washington won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Glendale is ranked 283rd, while Washington is ranked 295th).
