Basketball Game Preview: Monroe City Panthers vs. Palmyra Panthers

We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Palmyra took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Monroe City, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Monroe City didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hannibal, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win.

Meanwhile, Palmyra came up short against Central/Southeastern on Saturday and fell 59-48. While losing is never fun, Palmyra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in Missouri, while Central/Southeastern is ranked 19th in Illinois).

This is the second loss in a row for Palmyra and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Monroe City, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Monroe City skirted past Palmyra 52-50 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Monroe City repeat their success, or does Palmyra have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
