Softball Recap: Bentonville West Falls Short Against Ranked Bentonville

Bentonville West faced Bentonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolverines lost 11-1 to the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Bentonville West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella McVey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Bentonville West has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Bentonville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

The Wolverines are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Bentonville, they will be playing at home against Fayetteville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.58 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
