It was a perfect Hollywood ending. Only, it was a little after-the-fact.

Iman Marshall, a 5-star recruit from Long Beach Poly (Calif.) and the No. 1 cornerback in the country, announced live on ESPN that he'll be attending USC, but pretty much everyone already knew.

He picked the Trojans over LSU, Michigan, Florida State and Notre Dame, though most figured he'd stay close to home.

"It was a close decision," he said. "There are a lot of great programs throughout the nation. But part of the decision was to stay close to home and another big part was to bring us home a natty (national championship)."

Though the announcement was a perfect ending to a near-perfect recruiting day for the Trojans, who closed inside two points of Alabama's national leading class, there wasn't much drama.

That's because approximately 30 minutes before the ESPN ceremony, Bleacher Report ran a music video Marshall helped produce that told viewers exactly where he was going. The three-minute video ended with Marshall standing outside Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and then he put on a USC cap backward.

Marshall's signature will give the Trojans four 5-star recruits to tie Florida State for the second most in the country, just behind Alabama's six.

USC also landed 14 four-star and six 3-star athletes, helping to give the Trojans 309.67 points to 311.08 for Alabama.
