Baseball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Eagles vs. Clay County Christian Academy Eagles

Cornerstone Christian has gone a perfect 4-0 against Clay County Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Cornerstone Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Cornerstone Christian made easy work of Mt. Pleasant Christian and carried off a 9-3 win.

Gage Donaldson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Bolton Lawton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Clay County Christian Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past Tabernacle 10-3 last Tuesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Clay County Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Cornerstone Christian's way against Clay County Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Cornerstone Christian made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cornerstone Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
