Volleyball Recap: Jordan-Matthews Has No Trouble Against Carrboro

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enloe, Jordan-Matthews was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Carrboro Jaguars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Jordan-Matthews walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-16.

Angelo Vera paced Jordan-Matthews' offense, picking up eight kills. Vera got some help from Cristian Avalos and his nine assists. Vera also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jose Perez, racking up four apiece.

The victory got Jordan-Matthews back to even at 6-6. As for Carrboro, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Jordan-Matthews didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Durham School of the Arts on the 19th. Hopefully Carrboro paid attention to the Jets' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Jets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
