Soccer Game Preview: Metro-East Lutheran vs. Gibault Catholic

Metro-East Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Gibault Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Metro-East Lutheran Knights will head out on the road to take on the Gibault Catholic Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Metro-East Lutheran fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They won by a goal and slipped past East Alton-Wood River 2-1. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Oilers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Alison Waller was the driving force of Metro-East Lutheran's attack as she scored both of Metro-East Lutheran's goals.

Meanwhile, Gibault Catholic gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They never let Southwestern get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory.

Metro-East Lutheran might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Gibault Catholic in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Metro-East Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
