Volleyball Game Preview: Lee County Yellow Jackets vs. Union Pines Vikings + How To Watch

Lee County is 2-8 against Union Pines since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will venture away from home to take on the Vikings at 5:45 p.m.

On Thursday, Lee County came up short against Harnett Central and fell 3-1.

While Lee County ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Lee County had strong showings from Ce'Arah Stringfellow, who had 12 digs, and Hannah Britton, who had 12 digs and three aces. Britton is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Union Pines hadn't beaten Triton on the road since September 26, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Union Pines never let Triton on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-15, 25-15.

Union Pines' victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Lee County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Lee County suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Union Pines when the teams last played back in September. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
