The Lakewood Tigers will challenge the Westminster Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Lakewood is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Overland on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lakewood was outmatched by Overland on the road and fell 50-19. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.

Although Lakewood took the loss, they still got scores from Dean Vance, Sawyer Sears, and Isaiah Gray.

Meanwhile, Westminster beat Mountain Range 28-15 on Friday.

Mason Kiewiet continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 204 yards while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 175 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023. Nehemiah Maloid was another key player, rushing for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Westminster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adrian Moreno and Abraham Montes. Montes is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Westminster was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Westminster, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lakewood strolled past Westminster in their previous meeting back in September of 2021 by a score of 28-14. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Westminster's Victor Lopez, who rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
