After a string of 11 wins, Detroit Country Day's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Clarkston Wolves by a score of 3-2. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Detroit Country Day sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 21-25, 15-11.

Elise Hiemstra paced Detroit Country Day's offense, picking up 22 kills. Hiemstra got some help from Payton Woodruff and her 43 assists. Grace Cassise controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Detroit Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Clarkston, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.
