For the first time this season, Dimmitt will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Friona Chieftans at 4:30 p.m. Dimmitt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Dimmitt is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Ropes on Friday. They lost 10-1 to the Eagles. The contest marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dimmitt saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diego Villareal, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 16-11 to Ralls. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Chieftans still had to take the loss.

Owen McGaughy put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McGaughy was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Friona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dimmitt's record is now 4-3. As for Friona, their record is now 1-9.

Everything went Dimmitt's way against Friona in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Dimmitt made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dimmitt since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
