Softball Game Preview: San Manuel Miners vs. Baboquivari Warriors

San Manuel has gone a perfect 5-0 against Baboquivari recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Miners will be playing at home against the Warriors at 3:45 p.m. San Manuel has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

San Manuel made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hayden, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Miners put the hurt on the Lobos with a sharp 21-11 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Miners as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gyannah Mardrid was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leanna Duke, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Mardrid wasn't the only one making solid contact: San Manuel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Baboquivari was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 20-9 to Valley Union.

Baboquivari's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for San Manuel, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Everything went San Manuel's way against Baboquivari in their previous matchup back in March, as San Manuel made off with a 17-0 victory. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
