Basketball Recap: St. Ignatius Starts Season with Victory on the Road

St. Ignatius had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Bedford Bearcats by a score of 62-54 on Saturday.

Bedford's loss came despite strong showings from Kevin Woodgett and Aaron Mcguinea. Woodgett went 7-for-14 on his way to 22 points and five assists, while Mcguinea shot 41% from the field en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daverion Lovejoy, who posted six points and eight boards.

Looking ahead, St. Ignatius won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Glenville at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Bedford, they will challenge Mayfield at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
