Preview: Union County Fightin' Tigers vs. Interlachen Rams
The Union County Fightin' Tigers will be playing at home against the Interlachen Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
After a string of four wins, Union County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 55-48 to Trenton.
Union County's loss came about despite a quality game from Thomas Williams, who scored 25 points. That was a full 52.1% of Union County's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnte Nichols, who scored six points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Interlachen beat Crescent City 43-37 on Friday.
Interlachen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kemontae Nixon led the charge by scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds. Nixon is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ja'Marion Morris, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Interlachen, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Union County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.4 points per game. It's a different story for Interlachen, though, as they've been averaging only 52.1 points per game. The only thing between Union County and another offensive beatdown is Interlachen. Will they be able to keep them contained?
