Basketball Game Preview: Harding Academy Wildcats vs. Lamar Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Harding Academy Wildcats will jump right back in to play the Lamar Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Harding Academy sitting on three straight wins and Lamar on 20.

Harding Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Manila by a score of 58-49.

Harding Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emery Wilson, who posted 17 points and five assists. Claire Citty was another key player, putting up 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Wilson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Harding Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Lamar didn't have too much trouble with Fouke on Thursday as they won 49-33.

Harding Academy's record now sits at 26-3. As for Lamar, their record is now 32-2.

Harding Academy and Lamar were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in March of 2020, but Harding Academy came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can Harding Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
