Volleyball Recap: Carrollwood Day Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Carrollwood Day Patriots came up short against the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans and fell 3-1. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-21 in the first set.

Carrollwood Day started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Javier Olivo, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Carrollwood Day's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Carrollwood Day will welcome Seven Rivers Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrollwood Day is facing Seven Rivers Christian at the right time seeing as Seven Rivers Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Riverview Academy of Math and Science on the 12th.
