Softball Preview: Sonora Wildcats vs. Summerville Bears

Sonora is 8-2 against Summerville since May of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sonora Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Summerville Bears at 3:30 p.m. Sonora is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

KODIE TOWNSEND was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). TOWNSEND has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 22 consecutive pitching appearances. TOWNSEND was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sonora let KAYLA MONTGOMERY and CHEYENNE MATYSHOCK loose on the outfield.
