Baseball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Clarksville's Winning Streak

Clarksville blew Hartselle out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Hartselle got their revenge. Clarksville fell just short of Hartselle by a score of 4-2. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Braden Taylor was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Clarksville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Abernathy, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Clarksville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Hartselle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksville will take on Fairview in a tournament on Friday. As for Hartselle, they will square off against St. Edward at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
