Basketball Recap: Bettye Davis East Anchorage Takes a Loss

Bettye Davis East Anchorage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 69-19 loss at the hands of the Service Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunderbirds of the 69-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Leading Service to victory were Aryanna Watson and Sialeia Silva. Watson posted 27 points, while Silva put up 25 points. Watson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Leilah Bailey was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Bettye Davis East Anchorage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Service, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bettye Davis East Anchorage will take on Eagle River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Service, they will square off against Grace Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
