Softball Recap: Valley Wins Going Away Against Seneca

Valley won the last time they faced Seneca and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Red Hawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Makenna Perry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

In other batting news, Johanna Eason was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Isabella Brown, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Seneca, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Valley will be playing at home against Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seneca, they will head out to take on Butler at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
