Basketball Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Vista PEAK Prep Bison

The Legend Titans will face off against the Vista PEAK Prep Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Legend is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Riverdale Ridge, who was ranked 17th at the time (Legend was ranked fourth). Legend secured a 64-58 W over Riverdale Ridge last Monday.

Legend had a senior duo take command as Grace Stanley went 6 of 14 en route to 20 points and five steals and Mason Borcherding went 7 of 13 on her way to 14 points along with eight boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stanley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maley Wilhelm, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Legend smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep earned a 60-53 victory over Denver South on Tuesday.

Legend's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Legend against Vista PEAK Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 72-38 win. In that match, Legend amassed a halftime lead of 40-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
