Recap: Westwood Panthers vs. Port St. Lucie Jaguars

The Westwood Panthers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Port St. Lucie at home to the tune of 41-8. For Westwood, this counts as revenge for the 25-13 loss Port St. Lucie walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.

Westwood found their leader in underclassman Joseph "EJ" Weathers, who threw for 196 yards and four touchdowns. Braylon Vincent was another key contributor, rushing for 97 yards on only nine carries.

Another reason for the win was Westwood's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for ten sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ricardo Guthrie and Chris Pierre who racked up six sacks between them.

Westwood's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Port St. Lucie, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
