Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mendota walked away with it. They put the hurt on the St. Edward Green Wave with a sharp 6-0 win on Wednesday. Considering Mendota have won 19 matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Johan Cortez and Cesar Casas scored all six of Mendota's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 69 goals.

Mendota's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for St. Edward, they dropped their record down to 5-17-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Mendota has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Schaumburg Christian on the 25th. St. Edward does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
