Softball Recap: West Columbus Comes Up Short

West Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pender Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

West Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pender, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

While West Columbus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
