Basketball Game Recap: Touchet Redhawks vs. Riverside Pirates

The Touchet Redhawks were the 39-30 winner over the Riverside Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Touchet was the victim of a rough 56-31 defeat at the hands of Riverside on Friday.

Riverside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Deisy Zavala out in front who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Crystal Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 3 steals.

Touchet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Riverside, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Touchet will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Riverside and Trout Lake will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
