Basketball Recap: American Heritage Patriots vs. North Broward Prep Eagles

On Tuesday, American Heritage had to suffer through a rough 62-26 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points American Heritage has scored all season.

American Heritage's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saeed Moghaddam Adames, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

North Broward Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raul Perez ruiz led the charge by scoring 24 points along with three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Perez ruiz has scored at least a third of North Broward Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Enrico Borio, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

American Heritage dropped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Broward Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

American Heritage will head out on the road to challenge the Sabres at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Brendan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Patriots in Florida (the Sabres are ranked 124th, while the Patriots are ranked 348th). As for North Broward Prep, they will play host again and welcome the Sharks, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. NSU University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matchups -- so hopefully the Eagles like a good challenge.
