Recap: Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles vs. Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors
This season hasn't been kind to the Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mississippi Valley Christian on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Lighthouse Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 345th in Missouri, while Mississippi Valley Christian is ranked 54th in Illinois).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mississippi Valley Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Gaworski, who scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. The matchup was Gaworski's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Remi Sapp, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Lighthouse Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lighthouse Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mid-Missouri HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North County Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
