Softball Preview: Johnson Bayou Rebels vs. Hackberry Mustangs
Johnson Bayou hasn't had much luck against Hackberry recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Johnson Bayou has given up an average of 17.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Johnson Bayou is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against South Cameron, falling 19-0.
Meanwhile, Hackberry made easy work of Singer on Tuesday and carried off a 19-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Calli Trahan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Trahan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.
