Baseball Recap: Maricopa Comes Up Short

Maricopa extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-16. They came up short against the Catalina Foothills Falcons, falling 13-1. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Catalina Foothills, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Catalina Foothills' part, Tanner Sultan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Sultan a new career-high. Gabe Miranda also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maricopa will welcome Casa Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catalina Foothills, they will be playing at home against Canyon del Oro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Dorados have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
