Volleyball Recap: Hilton Head Island Takes a Loss

Hilton Head Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the May River Sharks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Hilton Head Island actually scored more points across those five sets (107-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 15-25, 26-24, 14-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Hilton Head Island's record now sits at 7-18. As for May River, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Hilton Head Island will take on Cardinal Newman in a tournament on Friday. As for May River, they are taking a road trip to take on New Hampstead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
