Basketball Recap: School for Entrepreneurship & Technology Comes Up Short

The matchup between School for Entrepreneurship & Technology and Cristo Rey on Thursday hardly resembled the 34-29 effort from their previous meeting. The School for Entrepreneurship & Technology Lions fell just short of Cristo Rey by a score of 64-62. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 34-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Despite the defeat, School for Entrepreneurship & Technology saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nathan Toon posted 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Toon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Tate, who had 12 points.

Charles Sawaya went supernova for Cristo Rey, going 9 of 19 en route to 23 points and eight steals. Sawaya is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Sawaya, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

School for Entrepreneurship & Technology's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cristo Rey, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.
