Soccer Game Preview: Tranquillity vs. Firebaugh

Tranquillity and Firebaugh are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Tranquillity Tigers will take on the Firebaugh Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tranquillity will be strutting in after a win while Firebaugh will be coming in after a loss.

Tranquillity's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Laton. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Firebaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Mendota, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly four goals.

Tranquillity is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four games. As for Firebaugh, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17-1.

Tranquillity came out on top in a nail-biter against Firebaugh in their previous meeting on January 14th, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tranquillity since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
