Softball Recap: Russell County Comes Up Short

If Russell County was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Monroe County on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakers lost 17-6 to the Clinton County Bulldogs on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 back in April.

Russell County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Cooper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Russell County's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Clinton County, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-7.

Russell County has already played their next matchup (against Southwestern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Clinton County, they will face off against Adair County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
