Football Recap: Hendrix Utley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Coconino over St. Mary's + How To Watch

Coconino's game on Thursday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 28-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Mary's Knights.

Coconino's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hendrix Utley, who rushed for 64 yards and one TD, and also threw for 131 yards and one touchdown on only 12 passes. Dylan Callado was another key rusher, rushing for 99 yards.

St. Mary's found their leader in sophomore Luke Horn, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, and also threw for 292 yards on 19 of 32 attempts. A healthy portion of Horn's aerial production (138 yards to be exact) went to Anthony Cannon.

Coconino's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Mary's, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coconino didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-0 win against Washington on the 11th. As for St. Mary's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 48-0 victory against Empire on the 12th.
