Basketball Recap: Unity Christian Comes Up Short

Unity Christian lost against Faith Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Unity Christian Knights lost 48-25 to the Faith Christian Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the Falcons are ranked 182nd).

When it comes to explaining why Unity Christian lost, don't look at Nathan Woessner. Despite the final result, he posted seven points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. With that strong performance, Woessner is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Graham Foust, who put up eight points and six boards.

Faith Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Schuler out in front who had ten points. Levi Slagter was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Unity Christian is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10. As for Faith Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Unity Christian will challenge Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Faith Christian, they will square off against Morning Star Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
