Recap: Axtell Wildcats vs. Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood]
The Axtell Wildcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood]. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Axtell also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Axtell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Lindau, who scored 19 points along with seven steals. Elijah Bergstrom was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Axtell has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood], this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.
Axtell will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lawrence-Nelson at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood], they will be playing at home against Pleasanton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
