Volleyball Recap: Versailles Takes a Loss

Versailles was the 3-0 winner over Russellville when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Versailles took Russellville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 24-26, 25-27, 15-12.

Among those leading the charge was Paige Calvird, who had 20 digs. Those 20 digs gave her a new career-high.

Versailles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Russellville, they moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Versailles will venture away from home to face off against Cole Camp at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Russellville, they will host Columbia Independent at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
