Softball Recap: Allegany-Limestone Sets Scoring Season-High Against Southwestern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Allegany-Limestone). Everything went their way against the Southwestern Trojans on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Allegany-Limestone's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Southwestern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coming up, Allegany-Limestone will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fredonia at 5:00 p.m. The Hillbillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Gators' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southwestern, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
