Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Normal University). They put the hurt on the Kaneland Knights with a sharp 14-2 win on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Makenzie Post looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Molly Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Avery Moody also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Normal University hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
