Softball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They came up short against the Forest Grove Vikings, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Rylee Mathews made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Forest Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Liberty will square off against rival Century at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Forest Grove is set to challenge their familiar foe Glencoe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.6, the Crimson Tide 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
