Softball Game Preview: Columbus North Bull Dogs vs. Jennings County Panthers

The Columbus North Bull Dogs will face off against the Jennings County Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus North will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

On Saturday, Columbus North got the win against North Oldham by a conclusive 14-2.

Miley McClellan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Williams, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Columbus North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jennings County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Shelbyville. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Columbus North has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Jennings County, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Columbus North was able to grind out a solid victory over Jennings County in their previous matchup last Saturday, winning 6-2. Will the Bull Dogs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
