Football Game Preview: Starmount Rams vs. Murphy Bulldogs

Two dominant backs in Jymir Billips and Cameron Clem are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Starmount Rams will square off against the Murphy Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Starmount comes in on six and Murphy on nine.

Starmount is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Mitchell to the tune of 58-22. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

A big part of Starmount's win came down to the chemistry between Deuce Best and his top target Ryley Rodriguez. Best threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns while Rodriguez picked up 83 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Rodriguez a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two). Aamir Adams was in the mix too, providing Starmount with two scores.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Starmount, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Adams, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Murphy's offense rose to the challenge against a Cardinals defense that boasted an average of only 14.08 points allowed on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against Corvian Community by a score of 49-40.

Murphy's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Starmount, their win bumped their record up to an identical 11-2.
