Recap: Central Jaguars vs. Baker Gators

With a playoff game on the line, the Central Jaguars rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 33-31 victory over the Gators. That's another feather in the cap for Central, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Leading Central to victory were Lakin Mathews and Lily Mathews. Mathews scored 13 points along with five steals, while Mathews scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mathews has scored at least a third of Central's points.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Baker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Central will head out on the road to take on Paxton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paxton will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Central surely won't give up without a fight. Baker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
