Basketball Recap: Harding Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

Harding Academy hadn't done well against Northpoint Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Harding Academy Lions enjoyed a cozy 43-25 victory over the Northpoint Christian Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harding Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Rose Austin, who posted 14 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emory Miller, who put up six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Harding Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Harding Academy pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Northpoint Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.

Harding Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-28 victory against St. George's on the 4th. As for Northpoint Christian, they will head out to challenge Evangelical Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
