Basketball Recap: Legacy Charter Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Legacy Charter saw some tournament action on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Eau Gallie Commodores with a sharp 61-41 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Commodores are ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legacy Charter found their leader in sophomore Trevor Miller, who went 10 of 13 en route to 27 points and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Garrison Cooper, who posted nine points.

Legacy Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eau Gallie only posted ten assists.

Several Commodores players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cohin Worthy, who put up 11 points. Joell Rios was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Legacy Charter has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Eau Gallie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Legacy Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-42 win against Lake Minneola on the 7th. As for Eau Gallie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-46 victory against Heritage on the 7th.
