Softball Recap: Fife Takes a Loss

Fife was the 8-2 winner over Orting when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals on Wednesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophia Payne was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Brooke Lindenmuth was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fife's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Orting, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fife will take on rival Steilacoom at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Orting is set to square off against their familiar foe Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
