The Horizon Scorpions will venture away from home to take on the El Paso Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Horizon is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Del Valle on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Horizon was dealt a 42-13 defeat at the hands of Del Valle. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 952nd, while the Conquistadores are ranked 241st).

Despite their loss, Horizon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Julian Williams, who threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Horizon also got a significant boost from Diego Flores, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez was balling out in the loss, throwing for 165 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 66 yards.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for El Paso, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
