Soccer Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short

Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the South Jones Braves, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Laurel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 109th, while South Jones are ranked 29th).

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for South Jones, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season.

Laurel will head out on the road to square off against North Forrest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Jones, they will take on Sumrall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
