Kings Mountain hasn't had much luck against Crest recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mountaineers will be playing at home against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kings Mountain's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Ashbrook as they made off with a 20-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

Anna Wooten was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Kings Mountain got a massive performance out of Kayla McSwain, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Avery Cruise, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Kings Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .692. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Crest came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 6-0 win.
Like Kings Mountain, Crest also got a great game from a two-way player: Aidan Ledbetter. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Ledbetter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Madison Crocker was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Josi Downey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Kings Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Crest, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Kings Mountain hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Crest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
