Baseball Game Preview: Marina Mariners vs. Pajaro Valley Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Marina will face off against Pajaro Valley. The Mariners will head out on the road to face off against the Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marina comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Marina is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Pajaro Valley on Tuesday, falling 25-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mariners have suffered against the Grizzlies since February 28, 2018.

Kaleb True was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Bryce Laoagan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those runs were his first of the season. Jessy Raygoza was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Marina's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Pajaro Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
